The worst camera ever put out by Sony September 5, 2010 Frank P. James Do not get this camera - it's capable of taking the odd spectacular picture, but for the most part it takes blurry shots with horrible color interpretation. It's a rare lemon for Sony - avoid like the plague.
well...it's kind of hard to take pictures without a visible screen... August 10, 2010 al presto I bought this camera a year & a month ago after my last camera started acting up. This was a newer camera, so of course the reviews on it were good. For the past 7 months it was a very good camera, it took pictures relatively well, although I had to work with it a little- I've gotten really good at holding dead still to get a clear photo.
A few months ago it started having problems focusing, but would fix itself relatively quick. Then coincidentally, just a few weeks after the warranty expired, the screen went nearly black & I could only make out a faint outline of the picture in bright sunlight. There being no viewfinder, I had no idea what I'm taking a picture of or if it will focus.
I depend on my camera on a day to day basis & the inability to use it is driving me crazy! It will cost over a hundred dollars to fix, & it's only one year old! I've treated it with nothing but care & this is what I get.
God, my old samsung took a tumble down a rocky hill & survived longer than this piece of crap.
Not worth my $200, & never buying Sony again.
PRICE WAS ALLITLE HIGHER THAN OTHER ITEMS SAME QUALITY April 27, 2010 Richard B. Cayton (BELTON, TEXAS, US) I THOUGHT I WAS GETTING A FAIR PRICE, I MADE THE MISTAKE AND BOUGHT WITHOUT DOING MORE RESEARCH PAID MORE THAN I NEEDED TO
Not crazy about my cybershot April 8, 2010 Rita W. Click (Oklahoma) The zoom is in the worst place ever and my pictures turn out grainy 90% of the time! I am normally a Sony fan but not with the Cybershot.
Sony Cybershot DSC W 230 digital Camera March 4, 2010 Garleeque (CO) Bought this camera to replace my wife's earlier model Sony that took a bath!!!. She loves this one. Bigger display. Only drawback is lack of an optical viewfinder, but the LCD display is so good that this lack is not a problem.
Would wholeheartedly recommend this camera to anyone. Great buy, and the usual great Amazon service.
